Set up in December 2015, Babease has introduced an exciting new range of tasty, healthy food designed specifically for babies, but which is in no way traditional ‘baby food’.
Originally the brain-child of top chef, Tom Redwood, the team at Babease believes that babies should be introduced to amazing tastes and textures at an early age, with the view that this is the best way to raise healthy, adventurous eaters in the future. The company’s range of balanced, savoury-led, baby food has been developed by a 65-strong team of food loving experts, to provide the perfect blend of ingredients to help introduce even young babies to real food, with real flavour.
The company uses locally sourced ingredients and runs its own factory in the Brecon Beacons, along with its head office in London. It is already distributing into many of the large retailers including Tesco, Waitrose, Booths, Boots and Ikea. The company also sells its food pouches through Amazon. With a 940% growth in 2017/18 and the same expected again in the current financial year, Babease needed to find a supply chain partner that would work with the business and contribute to its future success and growth.
Ben Vear, Operations Director at Babease explains: “We have chosen Boughey Distribution as our supply chain partner and have been working with the business since the summer 2018. One of the key reasons we selected Boughey is that although the company has the capability to work with large, multi-national businesses, it still treats its smaller start-up customers with the same level of commitment and importance. As a rapidly growing business, our needs can be quite complex and it\'s reassuring to know that Boughey will work with us to ensure we meet our targets.”
Ben continued: “I have worked with the team at Boughey in previous roles and I have always been impressed by its friendly, professional and robust performance. I am confident that the company is well positioned to meet our needs at this exciting time, as we continue to upscale our operation.”
Babease is looking to set new standards in high quality, vegetable-based food for young children containing a minimum of 20% protein, and building a brand based on health, taste and food enjoyment.
