Boughey Distribution joined the Palletline network in 2015 and the last five years have proven to be a great partnership between two renowned logistics providers. Palletline is the UK’s leading pallet network specialist. By becoming a member of the Palletline family, we have gained the opportunity to provide a distribution service to markets beyond the ambient grocery sector.
Boughey on board
Joining Palletline was an easy decision to make as our cultures are very similar, but we have also had to demonstrate our own high standards to meet Palletline’s strict criteria. Joining also chimed with our commitment to supporting the local economy. Every day, our vehicles are travelling the length and breadth of the country and being part of Palletline enables us to offer that level of distribution coverage to some of the smaller business clients in much wider areas. It’s very important to enable smaller companies to be competitive. Helping local businesses to reach a broader audience is the first step in achieving that.
Membership of Palletline allows us to offer a service to local businesses that will enable them to reach a UK-wide distribution network, without the hefty investment costs that are typically needed for this type of delivery service. As part of our main distribution site at Wardle, there’s a dedicated Palletline team, warehouse area and vehicles and trailers that are used for Palletline deliveries.
A seamless service
Palletline offers a broad range of services, from a variety of UK locations. These include Next-day and Express delivery, 48-Hour Service, and 2-Hour Service and European Service. Palletline operates a hub and sppoke distribution system, which means it can transport palletised goods across the UK, quickly and efficiently. It manages all load sizes, and overnight and economy delivery options, to offer ‘next working day’ service across mainland UK. Its members, such as Boughey Distribution, are responsible for the delivery of operations, working together to provide one seamless, connected service.
The concept is simple. Members collect freight from customers, and identify any for delivery outside their local area, while exchanging freights with other hubs for delivery in their area. This interactive approach works well, with each of Palletline’s regional hubs handling consignments for delivery in that area. This reduces Palletline’s travel miles and reduces its environmental impact. The business has six hubs, one central facility and five regional bases.
Efficiency and Sustainability
Our fleet of Palletline trailers deliver and pick up from the Central Hub in Birmingham. Palletline is known for its dedication to innovation, and each of its services are designed to support the needs of our customers and members throughout the UK. Palletline and its partners specialise in the delivery of single or multi-pallet consignments anywhere in the UK and Europe. The reduction in impact hauliers have on the environment has been welcomed by conservation groups. In this way, Palletline and Boughey deliver real value and benefits to their customers’ supply chain, efficiently and sustainably. The partnership makes sense, as the two companies share the same ethos, respect the same core values and aim for the same high service standards.
