Last night, the 34th Motor Transport Awards were hosted online in a live broadcast due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Normally, the awards ceremony is a glittering black-tie event held at the Grosvenor House Hotel on Park Lane and attended by hundreds of people, but the organisers managed to stage a great alternative which must have attracted a huge online audience.
We were shortlisted alongside two other companies, Expect Distribution and Fowler Welch, for the Haulier of the Year Award, the most coveted industry award of the year which recognises the most outstanding transport company. The award went to Expect Distribution, but we were thrilled to make the final which was very much a tribute to the great team of people we have working here.
The online broadcast highlighted the vital work being carried out by everyone working within the logistics industry during the Covid-19 crisis.
This year was first time the company has entered the Motor Transport Awards. Our submission for the Haulier of the Year Award was judged by an independent panel of experts drawn from the industry and was assessed for legal compliance, business success, high operational standards, staff development, health and safety; environmental and quality initiatives.
Fingers-crossed for next year!
